How To Write Headlines That Get Attention

Biz

No doubt, the headline is the most important part of any advertisement or sales letter. The reason is very simple. The headline is the first thing your prospect sees when he or she looks at your advertisement.

It’s an advertisement for your advertisement.

The only purpose of your headline is to get your prospect to continue reading your ad or sales letter. It must get your reader’s attention and it must pull them into your ad.

Your headline must be so irresistible that your reader has to find out more.

It doesn’t make a difference how good your product or service is or how good your advertising copy is, if your headline isn’t any good, your ad or sales letter won’t get read.

Let’s take a look at what two legendary copywriters have to say about the importance of good headlines:

“Advice to copywriters: When you are assigned to write an ad, write a lot of headlines first. Spend hours writing headlines — or days if necessary. If you can come up with a good headline, you are almost sure to have a good ad. But even the greatest writer can’t save an ad with a poor headline.” –John Caples

“On the average, five times as many people read the headline as read the body copy. If you haven’t done some selling in your headline, you have wasted 80 percent of your money. The wickedest of all sins is to run an advertisement without a headline.” — David Olgilvy

It never ceases to amaze me how many advertisements I see that don’t have headlines.

All advertisements should have a headline.

Let’s talk about the rules you should follow when writing headlines, the different types of headlines you can use, proven words to use in headlines, and how you can become an expert at writing headlines.

Rules to follow when writing headlines:

1. First and foremost, your headline must appeal to your reader’s self interest. Communicate the strongest benefit (or benefits) to your prospect. Everybody’s favorite radio station is “WIIFM” — What’s In It For Me? Your headline should answer this important question.

2. Attract the attention of the prospect you’d like to target. If your headline doesn’t attract the right people, it has failed. Your headline must reach out to your prospect, grab them by the throat and say, “Hey!!! I’m talking to you!”

3. Your headline must deliver a clear and understandable message. Most people read only the headlines. Because of this, your headline must make a complete statement and compel the prospect to continue reading the body copy.

4. If you have news, such as a new product, be sure to get that news into your headline in a big way.

5. Don’t try to be clever or humorous with your headlines. These type of headlines are ineffective and a waste of money.

6. Include the words “quick” and “easy” if it fits what you are communicating.

7. Use specifics in your headlines, not generalities. For example, “Make $5,274 In 30 Days” is a better headline than “Make Money Fast”. Specifics are more believable.

8. Always test two headlines against each other to see which one pulls the best.

9. Use upper and lower case letters for your headlines. This is easier to read than all caps. I also like to put quotation marks around my headlines. Studies have shown that quotation marks around headlines increase readership.

10. When it’s time for you to write a headline for your ad, write at least 50 headlines. Some direct marketers spend days writing hundreds of headlines in search of the right one. To come up with selling headlines takes more than just a few minutes. You’ve got to commit yourself to sitting down and writing at least 50 headlines!

Your headline is the key to your entire ad’s success. If you don’t tell your prospect what’s in it for them, you won’t get their attention. If you don’t get their attention, they won’t read your ad. And if they don’t read your ad, you’ve wasted your time and money.

Different types of headlines:

To help you write headlines that get attention, let’s take a look at the different types of headlines you can use, how and when you may want to use them, and actual examples of headlines that were successful.

• The News Headline. If your product or service offers something newsworthy, announce it in your headline. Newsworthy is usually the introduction of a new product or the improvement of an existing product.

Here are some words you can use in your News
Headline: New, Announcing, Introducing, Finally, Just Released, Now, At Last.

Examples:

“Now! Own Florida Land This Easy Way… $20.00 Down And $20.00
A Month”

“New Diet Burns Off More Fat Than If You Ran 98 Miles A Week”

“Announcing… The New Edition Of The Encyclopedia That Makes It Fun To Learn Things”

• The Guarantee Headline. Guarantee Headlines state a desirable benefit, and guarantee results or other benefits. If you offer a powerful guarantee, let your prospects know by stating it in the headline.

Examples:

“Play Guitar In 7 Days Or Money Back”

“Announcing A New Technologically Advanced Golf Ball You Will Never Lose, Never Slice, And Never Miss… 100% Guaranteed”

• The How To Headline. These two words — “how to”, are very powerful words. You can never go wrong using a How To Headline. (Over 7,000 book titles start out with How To.) How To Headlines promise your prospect a source for information, advice, and solutions to their problems. If you ever get stumped for a headline, use the How To Headline — it works!

Examples:

“How To Win Friends And Influence People”

“How To Get Your Cooking Bragged About”

“How To Form Your Own Corporation Without A Lawyer For
Under $50”

• The Benefit Headline. The key to a winning Benefit Headline is to know your market so well you can offer them a powerful, compelling benefit they can’t easily get somewhere else. You must thoroughly research your target market in order to know what benefits are going to motivate them to take action.

Examples:

“If You Are A Careful Driver You Can Save Money On Car Insurance”

“It Cleans Your Breath While It Cleans Your Teeth”

“Get Rid Of Money Worries For Good”

• The Question Headline. Here again, to use this headline, you must really know your market. You need to know what your prospect is thinking, what their anxieties are, and what they’re hoping to accomplish. If you know your target audience this well, then the Question Headline is an effective headline to use. The Question Headline must focus on your prospect’s self interest and ask a question they want to know the answer to. The best type of questions to ask are questions that get your prospect involved.

Examples:

“Do You Make These Mistakes In English?”

“Can You Pass This Money Test?”

• The Reason-Why Headline. With the Reason-Why Headline you give your prospect specific reasons why they should read your ad. Reason-Why Headlines are effective because they contain facts and specific numbers. Reason-Why Headlines don’t need to include the words “reason why”. You can use “38 ways”, “7 steps”, “5 secrets”, etc.

Examples:

“38 Fun And Easy Ways To Earn $500.00 Next Weekend”

“7 Steps To Freedom”

“67 Reasons Why It Would Have Paid You To Answer Our Ad A Few
Months Ago”

• The Testimonial Headline. The Testimonial Headline is just what it says — it uses a customer testimonial for a headline. With this headline, you get your customers to sell for you by talking about the benefits they received.

Examples:

“I Lost My Bulges… And Saved Money Too”

“How I Retired On A Guaranteed Income For Life”

“I Was Tired Of Living On Low Pay — So I Started Reading The Wall Street Journal — By A Subscriber”

• The Command Headline. The Command Headline tells your customer what to do. Your command should encourage action by offering your prospect a benefit that will help them. Effective Command Headlines start out with action verbs.

Examples:

“Stop Dreaming And Start Making Money”

“Throw Your Wax Can In The Trash Can — The New No-Wax Floor Is
Here”

“Order Christmas Cards Now — Pay After January 20”

There you have it! Several types of headlines you can use for any kind of circumstance or market. Each headline type works well on its own or it can be combined with the other headline types.

Now, let’s talk about words you can use in your headlines.

Powerful Headline Words That Are Proven To Work:

*  Advice To			*  Amazing
*  Announcing			*  At Last
*  Bargain			*  Breakthrough
*  Discover			*  Do You
*  Easy				*  Facts
*  Guarantee			*  Here
*  How To			*  Immediate
*  Life				*  Magic
*  Money			*  New
*  Now				*  Powerful
*  Proven			*  Quick
*  Sale				*  Secrets Of
*  Success			*  Surprising

And finally, the three most powerful headline words:

FREE You Your

The words that you use in your headlines are very important. Dan Kennedy has talked about how adding just one letter to a headline (with no other changes to the ad) almost tripled the response of an ad that ran in a magazine.

Let’s take a look at the headline Dan talked about. Here’s what the headline said before the change:

“Put Music In Your Life”

And here’s what it said after the change:

“Puts Music In Your Life”

Adding the “s” to the word “Put” almost tripled the response of the ad! (The first headline implies that you have to do something. The second headline implies that something is done for you.)

This example proves how important it is to spend lots of time writing dozens of headlines and then testing different headlines.

How To Become An Expert At Writing Headlines:

The first thing you can do to become an expert at writing headlines is to start a collection of headlines.

Whenever you see a headline that gets your attention and that compels you to read the ad, write it down on a 3 x 5 index card. Spend time studying these headlines and see if you can improve them.

An easy way to start a collection of effective headlines is to subscribe to the tabloid magazines. The people at National Inquirer, Star, and The Globe know how to write headlines. Because of their irresistible headlines, these magazines sell millions of copies each week! (Off the newsstands on impulse!)

I’ve got hundreds of index cards with headlines. When it’s time for me to write a headline, I use these index cards for ideas.

Here’s another trick for writing headlines:

Before you attempt to write a headline or any form of advertising, you should write down all the benefits of your product or service on 3 x 5 index cards. Write a single benefit on each card. When writing the benefits, remember to write them from your prospects point of view. (Also, convert the features of your product into customer benefits.)

Once you’ve taken the time to write down the benefits, you’ll have a stack of cards (maybe hundreds) that you can use for headline ideas. Isolate the most important customer benefit and use it to create your headlines. Sometimes, one of the benefits may turn out to be the actual headline. (Also, use the index cards when writing your ad or sales letter.)

Here’s a checklist to use when evaluating your headlines:

1. Does my headline communicate the strongest customer benefit?
2. Does my headline answer the question: “What’s In It For Me?”
3. Does it offer a reward for reading the ad?
4. Is my headline clear and direct? Does it communicate a complete message?
5. Is my headline get attention with a powerful sales message?
6. Does it motivate my prospect to keep reading?
7. Is my headline speaking directly to my target prospect?
8. Is my headline interesting to my prospects, or does it bore them?
9. And finally, is my headline an ad for my ad?

Remember, the difference between a good headline and a bad headline is the difference between success and failure in advertising.

Your headline is the deciding factor on whether or not your prospect will read your ad. It is the most important element in advertising. Spend the time that’s necessary to write winning headlines, and watch the response to your advertising sky rocket!

On dog bites and other dog injuries… (Part 2)

Lawyers' World

Dog bites are very common injuries for both adults and children. People bitten by a dog can have permanent disfigurement, psychological trauma, and worse, even death. It is therefore necessary to always provide great care when dealing with dogs, even those that are considered as pets.

Precautionary measures are provided by experts and medical practitioners to avoid getting bitten. However, when one gets dog bites, one should know his/her rights, especially when it comes to recovering damages.

If you or a family is bitten by a dog, you should:

… try to identify the dog. If the dog has rabies, it is important that you should seek medical care and get the appropriate vaccines against the rabies.

… not argue with the owner of the dog. Arguing won’t do any good, especially when the owner doesn’t want to believe what happened. Many owners believe in the goodness of their pets that’s why it’s hard for them to accept that their dog would bite without severe provocation.

… not sign any papers or make statements on record. The dog owner, property owner or their insurance company might try to get you to sign papers or record your statements on tape. Take note that their primary goal is to get you to make statements that will help in their cause to avoid possible liabilities for your injuries. If this happens, you should consider having a lawyer present to assist you.

… make a report to the police. Report the incident to the police and they will investigate the circumstances of the dog bite. They will then provide a report that may help establish the incident.

… seek medical care. The dog that bit you may have rabies. In that case, you will need appropriate vaccines to counter the effects of rabies. On the other hand, dog bites involve puncture wounds from fangs. These can be easily infected. Also, you may have scrapes and abrasions from protecting yourself during the attack. An infected wound can result in a worse scar, and even serious complications and consequences.

… consider consulting a lawyer. A reliable lawyer can help you get back your financial losses as well as the emotional and psychological effects from the injuries caused by the incident. Even if the insurance company offers to give you payment, it helps to have a lawyer review the proposed settlement. A lawyer you can trust can help you obtain a fair outcome.

The Law

Different laws on dog bite injuries are provided in different states. In Michigan, victims of dog bites can easily establish liability on the part of the owner. Under Michigan law, it doesn’t matter if the dog has never bitten another person. There is no “free bite rule”. Dog owners are liable even if it’s the first time that they’re dogs bit somebody.

On the other hand, people may also be injured even without getting bitten by a dog. An attack may cause injury through the dog’s claws, when the person was knock over, or when the driver of a bicycle was upset by a dog. If injured, these individuals may file claims, and recover damages from the dog’s owner.

Check your state’s law for information on dog bites.

Anger Management Strategies And Advice

The Psychologists Way

This article looks at strategies and gives advice to help people control their anger. I am sure that we all become angry from time to time and want to lash out at the people who are annoying us or who have let us down. This is course is not the answer and the article gives tips on how we should be responding to these situations.

I used to easily become angry and could not believe the way certain people were treating me. I wanted to teach them a lesson which would help them to mend their ways. The only way I could think of responding was by shouting at them, threatening them or by using violence against them.

I will give you an example of a situation where a person basically cheated me out of a large sum of money. I was looking at turning my front garden into a driveway and I had a number of people around to the house, all of which gave me a quote for the work.

I decided to accept a quote from John who seemed a very nice and trustworthy man. Him and his team spent a couple of days laying the drive during which I was keeping them well supplied with foods and drinks, we all got on very well.

He advised me not to park my car on the new drive for a few days to let it settle and become hardened. I waited a week and then drove my car onto the new driveway. To my horror the driveway dipped and I later found out from a friend that they had not put any hardcore (I think that is what it is called) down.

I tried to contact John but he did not answer his phone, I went round to see him and he would not answer his door. I became more and more angry and started to plan my revenge.

Walking away

I had many options through the courts which I could and did pursue. It was a lengthy process and John basically did not have any money to repay me despite eventually admitting responsibility.

I have now decided to let nature take its course and to walk away. This is not just from the situation above but from any similar event.

When me wife annoys me, I will just walk away to compose myself. I was once told to count to ten which is certainly a good idea. Being angry, like the way I always used to be, is not good for my health and causes me to become stressed, to become depressed and to lose sleep.

I now see people as apples in a bucket. Out of ten apples, three will be rotten. Instead of feeling angry at the rotten apples, I feel sorry for them.

I firmly believe in God and have now decided that I do not need to seek any form of revenge as he will be judge and jury on judgement day. At this stage these people will have nowhere to hide.

Living life this way is far easier for me and I only wish I had had this approach and form of anger management technique, years ago.

Website Marketing

Traffic Boosters

As site managers, our objective is to use links to “vote” so the search engines will show our site for the term being targeted. The question is; which is more important, quality links, or a lot of links?

The recent Google index update (dubbed the Jagger update Oct 2005) has many webmasters very upset that their site appears to have dropped from the SERPS (search engine result pages). They fell off for several reasons, either they were using deceitful practices (which seem to have become more strict during this update -hidden text, hidden links, etc) or they were counting on their huge link campaigns to float them to the finish line. In other words, having many links from sites that are not relevant and are not authority pages.

Our definition of an authority page is:

It shows up for a search term

It has some page rank (hopefully a 5 or greater)

It is re-indexed often (it’s cache date is recent).

It has back-links from sites other than it’s own domain.

For a long time now people have been using link-exchange as their primary course of action to increase link popularity. This generates many links with your preferred anchor text in each, distributed across many domains. This is “quantity”, having many links.

When running a campaign the competitions overall links are considered. Knowing some things about the sites that show up in the top 3 positions is critical. How many links do they have is where many people stop. A successful campaign will consider many other factors, such as:

How many unique domain links?

How many of those links have the target phrase in anchor?

If the pages that link to your site are relevant:

Do they have the phrase in the title?

Is the content on that page focused around the target phrase?

Does it show up for the target phrase in the SERP?

Do others link to that page with that anchor?

How many links are on the page?

What is page rank of the page?

How recent is the cache date?

Some have said these efforts are too extensive, and bear no fruit. However the Jagger update dropped those sites that did not make any of these considerations. Including sites that have 800 unique domain links with solid anchor density. Why is that? Probably because the concept behind google’s ranking revolves around the idea of “reference”, just as a college paper is considered important if many future college papers refer to it. How natural those references are is somewhat difficult for Google to determine, all except link exchanges, those are quite easy for Google to see and dismiss (or lower their overall weight).

As one puts forth the effort to obtain 10 link-exchanges, they could have put forth the same effort and obtained 2 or more alternative links. Links that meet the criteria. A link for the sake of having a link is no longer as valuable. We feel a link-exchange link is now 10 times less powerful.

Scenario A) 4 links (we’ll call them “natural links”) on relevant pages, pages that are cached often, have no more than 5 outbound links, and have page rank of 5, with two of those links containing the {target-phrase} in the anchor text, the other two having the phrase {phrase-target} in the anchor text will deliver more results.

Scenario B) 40 links from irrelevant pages, that have an old cache date, PR no greater than 2, and 30+ outbound links. Having the phrases be just as scattered across each 40 as the above in anchor.

We have found that until now Scenario B was credible. We have observed that many of the campaigns that use this method as their primary method of ranking have dropped off the SERPS. They are sites that have been on the first page for years, using nothing but link exchanges and directory participation as their primary means of link building; with very few sponsored links to hold their weight.

Those campaigns that set aside a substantial amount of their marketing budget for sponsored links each month have remained. Actually, they’ve increased, mostly because the competitors that used Scenario B dropped off, leaving room in top positions for their site.

One way, relevant links from pages that have Page Rank are cached often from authority pages (not necessarily sites that are authority, but pages that show up for a search term), have won Google over and are now a requirement for any competitive phrase.

Getting to the top for a phrase is well worth the time, it’s worth money to the client. It has a direct impact on their bottom line the first month they begin showing up for the term. The growth potential of a company can now be directly related to how high they are in the SERP for a competitive term that is searched often. As you begin to rank higher and higher your competitors must spend to get above you, if you are higher and can stay higher you may just force them to spend more than they have and price them out of the market.

These are just some of the small factors to consider when running a campaign.

A Funny Thing Happened While I Was In The Forum

Social Web + More

Yeah, I know. The title’s not that original, but maybe it made somebody click thru and read at least this far.

That’s the idea, isn’t it? To get somebody interested enough to wander in and look around?

What this is really about is the value of forums to the internet marketing process.

You see, internet marketing CAN be what Ford, or GE, or Verizon does. They have a lot of money and build these big, beeeeooootiful webpages, as Trader Jon would have said. However, I’m talking about you and me. Our budgets are a little bit smaller. Some of us have actually had to go to the extremes of learning a little basic html coding so that we could build our first webpages ourselves because we didn’t have the money to hire somebody to do it for us.

How could somebody like that compete against major corporations?

Obvious answer….They (we) can’t.

There are, however, ways to make your product or service of interest to a large enough audience so as to generate some sales. Using forums is one of these ways. Not only is it an effective way of attracting interested visitors to your website, it falls under the heading of network marketing (here I suggest reading my article, “Network Marketing In Its Purest Form”), which, lo and behold is essentially the easiest way for most of us common internet marketers to attract potential customers. Notice how I snuck that plug in for my other article? That’s actually something you might be able to do in a forum.

In the other article, by the way, I hinted that one of the benefits of network marketing was that you got to make friends. Well, that’s what often happens in forums. You meet people who share your interests. While those interests can be as serious as you want them to be, many forums also give you the opportunity to have a little fun. As I write this article, a forum I belong to has a story being written three words at a time by members who wander by and feel the urge to be creative. I have copied a list of one-liners from one post and sent them to my sister-in-law who cracked up when she read them. From the same forum, I have gathered information on how to use traffic exchanges to generate traffic to my website, I have learned how to use RSS feeds to enhance the value of my website to my visitors, and how to create splash pages to build my email list, just to name a few topics.

I have corresponded with members from Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, and Malyasia. I have watched as other forum members jumped in, one after the other, to explain and clarify a point which confused a member who was having trouble getting a web page set up properly.

I have had the pleasure of seeing articles, comments, jokes, and encouraging remarks of mine appear on the forums I am a member of, as well as reading the articles of others, their comments, jokes, and encouraging remarks as well.

I have gained a lot from being a member of these forums, both as an internet marketer, and as an idividual.

And you know what else? At the bottom of every comment, article, or joke I post, there are links to my websites. That’s another great thing about forums. No matter whether I post a joke, a serious comment, or a thoughtfully crafted and written work of art such as this article, there will be links to one or more of my websites either in the article itself, or in a signature which the moderators of the forum allow me to add to my comments. The search engines pick up these links and follow them back to my website(s). The readers of the comments follow them back to my website.

Talk about free traffic! I get to interact with friends, maybe offer something of value to them, get something of value from them, learn some new techniques, and maybe a few new jokes. Can’t beat that!

Cooling Problems: A Five Step Approach

Living With Hardware

Is your computer a monster? Is it a fire-breathing dragon that can go howling through the latest games, the most intense video, and the heaviest of heavy duty number crunching?

If so, the analogy of fire-breathing dragon to computer may be particularly apt, because the inside of its case can run as hot as blazes. To prevent this, I favor a five step approach.

The first step is perhaps the easiest to deal with. Answer this: what is the room temperature where your computer is located? Cool, perhaps uncomfortably cool for some people, is best. This brings to mind a friend, a skinny, asthetic fellow, who spends hours running a demanding 3-D animation program on his PC.

He liked a room temperature near 80 degrees, while his computer would have prefered something in the range of 68 or so. Actually, he was shortening the life of his machine by running it under these conditions. Finally, he was persuaded to wear a pullover, and turn the thermostat down. My friend is reasonably content with the compromise, and his computer lives on.

Now, the second step: have you noticed the design of computer desks? How there’s a cubby hole set aside for the computer itself? Usually, a PC will just barely fit into the things.

If you get such a desk, use the cubby hole for instruction manuals, textbooks, put a vase there, anything but a computer. The walls of the cubby hole block air vents, restricting the airflow inside your computer’s case. Hot air pools up, letting the temperature climb higher, like the inside of a oven.

No matter how strong the exhaust fans are in your PC, it has to be able to pull some air in through the vents to breathe, you might say. Give it a chance. Keep it out of the cubby hole.

Also, keep it out of direct sunlight. That is the third step. Ask yourself this: why does a cat like to sleep in the shaft of sunlight that comes through a window? The answer is obvious. It’s warm there.

Now, imagine a computer, with a dark colored case sitting before that same window. It will get hot without even running!

When your cat gets hot, it can get up and walk away. Your computer can’t. So, keep it out of sunlight.

The next step is one of the most practical, and addresses the problem directly. The surest way to lower the temperature inside your PC’s case is to add another fan.

This is a much simpler operation than it may sound like to the beginner. All you have to do is open up the case, mount the fan with four screws, and either connect it to a lead coming from the case’s power supply, or plug it into a 5V receptacle on the motherboard.

The rub comes when you don’t have a place to mount another fan. This is often a problem with smaller size cases.

Modification, cutting a new fan port, is a job best left to an experienced hand. I have done this sort of thing, but only on a completely empty case. Everything, motherboard, hard drive, and all, comes out first. No metal shavings, or metal dust should be allowed to reach your PC’s components.

The fifth step, if the others fail, is liquid cooling. At one time, this was viewed as a drastic option, and I can well remember how leery many of us were when this new technology came on the market. Yet its fascination drew me to try it, on a PC I put together from scratch.

The effectiveness surprised me. It tamed what could have been an otherwise insurmountable cooling problem, and has performed admirably in the many months since.

By the way, the unit I purchased has come down in price by at least 30% since I bought it.

Cash Advance Payday Loans: Yes The Rates Are Higher!

The Loaning Way

Typically Cash Advance Payday Loans have no credit checks, and a very minimal amount of paper work.

They are mainly concerned that you are, whom you say, you are. And, that you have the income, and the ability, to pay back the loan. And, that you have a checking account.

Cash advance loans are designed for emergency situations! When you are short on cash and need money fast! Family emergencies, unexpected car repairs, overdrafts, telephone reconnection, unexpected bill, etc.

The Cash Advance Payday Loan industry is the subject of much criticism. Most of it coming from members of the regular established lending industry, banks and credit unions. This is because of the interest rates and fees involved with these short-term payday loans.

Typically if you receive a $100 Cash Advance… 7 to 14 days later you will be required to pay back about $125.

That may not sound so bad, especially if you really needed that $100 at the time, and know you can easily pay it back plus the extra $25 when you get paid from your job.

But if compared to maybe a 6% interest rate from a bank, or even a high 29% if taking a cash advance from a credit card… using the same repayment period, this Payday Loan would equate to somewhere near 500%

So consider… If you are strictly comparing interest rates to interest rates, there is no question that the A.P.R. on payday loans are outrageous!

But also consider this… will a bank or credit union loan you a quick $100 when you really need it? How about that same day, or within 24 hours?

If you have some credit issues… will a bank or credit union even talk to you at all?

Even if you have A1 credit, and are in a situation where you needed a little quick extra cash it is very unlikely you can walk into any bank and get it within 24 hours. The one exception would be if you already had a pre-establish line of credit with your own bank.

The bottom line is that Cash Advance Payday Loans exist for a reason. They supply a definite need, and there is a definite demand.

Most of their customers are not the ones who banks, and credit, union are very anxious to lend money too.

* What is it Going to Cost You to Get the Money?

* What is it Going To Cost You, If You Don’t Get The Money?

Spanish Love: Spanish Poets and Their Spanish Poems

Arts & Crafts

Love and its attendant passions has been the favorite subject of Spanish poetry since the time of the troubadours, medieval poets who earned their keep by singing for the people at the village square or for the nobility during royal gatherings at the palace. Composers in their own right, these court poets sang about courtly love and the bittersweet pain of unattained love for an idealized woman using the jarchas, a form of love song that was actually poetry written in very short stanzas.

It is important in the study of Spanish love poems to differentiate between poems that originated from countries outside of Spain including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, The Philippines, Puerto Rico, The United States, Uruguay and Venezuela which were written in Spanish but whose authors were not from Spain. All these poets and their respective poems have contributed in some way to the development of Spanish Poetry as a genre because they all wrote their work in Spanish albeit in the form of Spanish common to their country of origin. Although some of them wrote patriotic poems about their motherland, most of them utilized images of love to depict the sorrow of a country that has lost its freedom.

Some of these well-known Spanish poets and their popular poems are:

Carlos Alberto Garcia – Amor
Que soy
Quisiera
Yo te conozco
Olvidarte
Nestor Oscar Morris – Quiero decirte algo
Pienso solo en ti
Jorge E. Diaz Leyton – Tu
Manuel M. Mendez – Pertenencia

Focusing attention on Spanish poets who trace their origins to Spain, however; poets who lived, loved and wrote their best work within the Spanish Peninsula or the so-called ‘Poetas de España’, we come up with a list of illustrious writers whose works contributed to the development of Spanish Literature as it is today.

Diet For Acne

The Healthy Way

In order to control the rate of acne development, there are a
few tips, which need to be followed. It is better advised to
consume vegetables, cereals, pulses and fruits to the maximum.
They are usually rich in fiber content and lack the constituents
that lead to obesity. You will be on the safer side if you avoid
gulping fried food, milk products, hydrogenated vegetable oils,
shellfish, carbonated beverages etc. Proper intake of water is
also necessary and will work out best.

As vitamin supplements are the building blocks for healthy skin,
they should be eaten but with a proper guidance from a
physician.

1. Vitamin A is necessary for reducing the sebum production, but
excessive dosages could cause knee and joint pain, decrease in
bone density, a few gynecology issues etc. A woman expecting an
offspring should carefully follow a guideline from the medical
experts and continue with her course of therapy. 2. Ingestion of
zinc, especially the solution of zinc gluconate will readily
reduce the rash formations, reduce inflammation and also slow
down the effect of adrenal glands on the skin. 3. Vitamin B6 is
required for proper metabolism.

If the above mentioned diet and vitamin supplements are consumed
you can restrict acne to a large extent.
