When Pets Lose their Pet Pals — Do They Grieve too?

Animal Fun

Oh, so you think your pet isn’t human? You think humans are the only ones that can feel the loss of a loved one?

While we obviously don’t know for sure - think about it. If pets eat like we do, sleep like we do, have the same body make up (within) like we do, cry when in pain like we do, then why won’t they too feel the pain of a loved one like humans do?

It is sad that many humans think they are the only ones that are qualified to feel sad, happy or grieve when the loss a loved one.

If your pet can feel happy when there is the cause to, then why do you think it can’t feel sad and grieve when there is cause to?

Why won’t your pet moan when the closest pet to it has just died. Now it has to stay alone, play alone, sit alone, eat alone, etc. It will definitely feel the loss of the other and this will be manifest in its behavior.

Or you think because your pet can’t speak to you and tell you how it feels, then it doesn’t mourn?

Fact is this - when one of your pet dies and the other starts behaving in ways such as - eating less; loss of interest in things that it used to feel interest in staying aloof from you and others; not sleeping where it used to sleep, staying silent most of the time, etc.

All these are signs that your pet is silently grieving the loss of the other pet. If the pet isn’t really sure whether the other one died or not, it could be hoping that the other pet will return.

What should you do when this happens?

Nothing much than to wait for time to heal the heart of this grieving pet.

Like humans, pets also feel the loss of a fellow pet, but get over this loss after some time. Time, they say, heals all wounds - in humans and even in pets.

So, when one of your pet dies and the other feels the loss so much, don’t fret too much about it - this pet will get over it in due time. Some pets heal within a few weeks, while some last for many weeks and even months before they forget about the loss of their fellow pals.

What you can do is to give your pet all the necessary support, care and tenderness it needs to get over the loss in good time.

In other words, do everything you can to take the mind of your pet away from her object of worry. Engage her in those activities that she normally loves to do. If your pet is one that loves to have other pets to play with, then invite your friend over and have them bring their pets.

Best of all, you can buy another pet to keep your pet from feeling too lonely. With time she will eventually forget about the loss of the previous one.

Do all these and your pet can feel better despite the loss of its previous pal.

Did You Know That Even TV Remote Control Units Can Get Press and Media Coverage?

Promotion

Did you Know That Even TV Remote Control Units Can Get Press and Media Coverage?

It is widely and yet wrongly believed that only very famous, fascinating or controversial people or products can get valuable press coverage and publicity through the distribution of press releases.

This would seem to shut out a vast majority of small businesses and their products and services from benefiting and profiting from the lucrative world of the press and media. It would also seem that the vast majority of online and e-commerce entrepreneurs are not in a position to reap the rewards of PR or public relations benefits. One would think that small businesses would not have a chance in the PR world. Only thing is …. that this is just not true!

In fact nothing can be further from the truth. The reality is that virtually anybody and any product or service can get valuable press coverage, capable of attracting a colossal amount of attention and the orders that go with it, thus making a huge impact on the success of any business, irrespective of its’ size or nature.

The key behind the success of any public relations campaign hinges mainly on a well written press release and high quality targeted pr distribution. The most successful press releases are the ones that highlight the most interesting aspect of a new or existing business in a way to make it press worthy and that speaks directly into a particular listening audience.

Highly successful press releases campaigns have been conducted on a wide variety of different products and services. It is surprising to know that some of the products that have received extensive coverage as a result of quality targeted press release distribution services include what one might normally consider as common items such as: golf ball washers, TV remote controls, eyeglass lens displays, shopping websites, bracelets and a host of other everyday products and services.

Such seemingly everyday ordinary products have been the subject of press worthy articles that have led to coverage in numerous large newspapers like the Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Miami Herald and the San Francisco Chronicle amongst others.

Skillfully written press releases can also lead to full write-ups and photos of products in Yahoo! Internet Life Magazine, Family Circle Magazine, Home and Graden and many other publications. This is also not to mention TV segments in popular television shows like the Regis and Kelly show and Good Morning America… or perhaps the motherload of TV exposure - the Oprah Winrey show.

Quite often press releases offer the sort of editorial coverage than no amount of money can buy and often times it results in a total image transformation with a meaningful impact in the market. Much of the best exposure can be in particular trade publications the offer the most reward to a business. It has been said many times before that targeted press release distribution can offer an element of exposure that than no amount of paid advertising can come close to achieving.

It is important to note that the size of a particular business does not really matter. In the hands of a skilled PR person or spin doctor (as the press are fond of referring to them as), any entrepreneur with some clear minded focus and a quality marketing and advertising company can get press and media exposure they need to generate some meaningful publicity that can dramatically transform the fortunes of their small business.

4 Steps To Explosive Joint Ventures

Online Marketing

Everyone needs targeted visitors to their websites and tis could proof, at some times, to be a very tough job to do. You hear that you need to do one thing from this guru and the other guru tells you to do another. It gets confusing at one point.

Now, the one strategy that will never fail you is finding good partners. Basically even internet marketing is about the “partners” you have and find. You need link partners to gain popularity in the search engines and when you want to sell a product, effectively, you need JV partners to get this thing rolling.

Now why should I do a JV?

Well, whenever you have a product and you want to launch it, it may be wise to find websites in your niche that have lists and may be interested in selling your products. And even if they don’t have a list, just ask them if they would like to promote your product on their website.

What is in it for them?

Great question… whenever you set-up a JV, you need to be sure there is something in it FOR THEM. So depending on you focus you could offer them a commission of 50 up-to 100% on a product you sell.

So how do your determine what kind of commission you will give to your affiliates? It really depends on your focus… if you want to build a list of paying customers quickly, you set-up a JV and give as much commission as possible to your JV partners but when it is for a product that you are going to sell as your main product, you could offer them a commission anywhere between the 50 and 65% (you still need to make a living yourself).

In the first case the product doesn’t have to be extremely high priced, it is all about building that list with “paying customers”… your golden list. So something like $9,95 would be just fine and perfect to attract partners and hand you over their lists. Especially if you give-out a commission of 100%.

Now, the next thing you should do is make it as simple as possible for the JV partner. What I mean by that is that you shouldn’t let them do to much work. You should create all the messages for them(so they can send it out to their list), create a couple of banners that they can put up on their websites, text links, etc.

Now, I have shown you the basics of setting up a JV. Marc Goldmann knows a lot more about how-to set-up Joint Ventures, effectively. So if you ware truly interested, I highly recommend you to do a search on him on Google.

I want to stop by giving you step by step directions you can follow when you set-up your Joint Ventures:

#1: Have a product to sell. You need to make sure you have some kind of product your could sell before you can set-up a JV. And this doesn’t have to be your own product, just think outside the box or check out this website for more information about Joint Ventures.

#2: Set-up you website. When you set-up a JV for your own product, you need a website to promote that product. So you will need to buy hosting and a domain name. I personally get my domains at Godaddy and my hosting at Hostgator.

#3: Find JV partners. This is a very time-consuming task but very rewarding in the end. All you should do is look for websites in your niche and ask them if they want to be your JV partner. Try to call them if possible and otherwise send them a email about your affiliate program(how much they can make, other advantages for them).

#4: Set-up and prepare for launch. If you want to learn more about how to set-up a launch, you should take a look at this website. He knows everything about launches and can most surely help you set-up a launch in your own niche. I will just cover some basics.

What you need to do is make sure your follow ups are ready, that you start getting prospects before you launch and keep these prospects updated and interested about your product, Create a sense of urgency like your product is the best they can get in your niche. And it will make sure that your partners will make more money and the next time you launch something, they will be happy to help you out.

I hope this article has been useful and will help you set-up some explosive Joint Ventures in the future. Take action right now and good luck.

2 Simple Steps Before Starting Your Business

Management

There is so much small business information available today that it’s easy to be bogged down by the sheer volume of it all. Where does one start? Well, it’s safe to say not all the information you’ll receive will be of equal value. So it’s important to be discerning when you’re thinking about applying any suggestions to your new business. In many cases, you’ll find some suggestions don’t match your business type, management style, budget, or industry. This could lead to wasted dollars spent and time lost. So learning how to research and compile information will be key in developing a plan that is tailored to fit your business needs.

What I suggest is a methodical and basic approach to starting your business. No matter what the industry, in most cases, these two initial steps will always be the same.

  1. Take a crash course in small business. There is no better place to start then http://sba.gov. Not only will you find dozens of free tutorials on business planning and managing but you will also find important information regarding legalizing your business in respect to your location and your industry. In addition, you will find links to other leading small business sites and resources. Visit the site and remember to bookmark this page. Try to develop a schedule and visit the site on a regular basis to familiarize yourself with small business ownership and all its related issues, regulations, requirements, and rewards.
  2. Network with other small business owners. Join community websites specifically geared towards small business owners so you can find solutions to common problems such as time management and financing. It’s also the best way to build a support system while you are planning to launch your business. Some entrepreneurs give up because they feel they are going at it alone! But there are so many other people out there going through the same challenges and are more than happy to assist you.

Don’t let your confusion or the amount of information available overwhelm you into paralysis. Once you’ve gained knowledge on how to become a successful entrepreneur don’t stop there. Each day try to work more and more towards formalizing your plans. And don’t be afraid to ask for help. Remember, you’ve got a lot of work ahead of you but these first two steps will ensure you don’t head into entrepreneurship ill-prepared.

Why Being Aggressive Won’t Get You Sales

Sales Portal

When people are asked to think of less than successful salesman, one of the unpleasant characteristics that springs to mind is them being pushy or aggressive.

The usual memory is of looking for a new car or used car! We have all had experiences when the salesman hasn’t stopped talking and you sense yourself being pushed to say ‘yes’. You find yourself signing on the dotted line!

Too many business owners, when presenting their sales pitch don’t think about whether their style could be perceived as pushy or aggressive, and don’t realise what they could be losing. In this article we are going to look at exactly what being pushy or aggressive looks like and how it can damage building long term relationships (which is what selling should be about).

Being pushy, whether intentionally or unintentionally, can be the ruin of a salesperson. Luckily we are all individuals, so we have a different ‘pain’ threshold where pushy salesmen are concerned; some people will shrug it off, others will feel intimidated. But what defines ‘pushy’?

To ‘push’ something is the act of exerting force on one object in order to move it from one place to another. When you push an object, its weight responds as resistance and to overcome this you have to push harder. To fulfil the act of pushing you have to expend effort, but when strong enough, resistance can prevent you from moving forward.

Looking at the preceding words again, but re-framing them in a sales context, you can quickly see what being pushy is - forcing your will onto the buyer, countering resistance with more force, using effort to get a result. This is not how to make a sale or encourage someone to buy from you again! You must always remember that a customer is with you because he wants to be there - he can quickly change his mind.

What are the actions you take in your sales process, which could be perceived as aggressive?

• Not taking ‘no’ for answer

• Not actively listening or watching for body language hints which are telling you to stop, that your message is not getting across

• Being overly familiar with the customer too early in the sales process

• Despite having been told that he is not interested, within a few days you are back on the phone, following up the previous meeting

These actions could be taken in all innocence but the outcome is the same - the customer feels pressurised.

So what’s the impact of these actions? Here are some of the possible outcomes if you take things too far.

• You may be lucky and hit upon a customer who is too meek to fight back or walk away. Great, you made a sale! However, they will never buy from you again. Missing out on repeat business means you are missing on the real profit. The next deal can be completed without all the preliminary talk so the true profit is higher. Be pushy and you miss out on all of this

• If the customer is a strong personality, he may dig his heels in and an argument quickly develops. You can never conclude a sale under these circumstances. Worse still, if you are in the retail trade, potential customers wandering around your shop may pick up on the tense atmosphere and be out of the door with their money still in their pocket. The result? More than one lost sale

• Even if your product or service is ideal for them and satisfies all their requirements, if they feel uncomfortable with your style, they’ll buy elsewhere

• Word-of-mouth can be a great way to boost sales but it can also be a destructive force. A dissatisfied customer will tell many more people about their bad experience than a satisfied customer will about a good experience. So, not only have you missed out on one sale but also a bucket-load more

What steps can you take to avoid being too pushy or aggressive and possibly end up loosing a sale?

Early on in the relationship or presentation, don’t be overly familiar. Ask if you can call them by their first name. Seeking permission may sound a bit cheesy but at least you have their permission.

Having established this ground rule, actively listen to what the customer is saying, Is he dropping clear hints that he is not comfortable with what you are saying? Conversely, if he’s not responding at all, ask him if he’s OK with what he has heard so far. Asking questions is a great way of finding out what the customer is really thinking and so an opportunity to put things right.

As well as listening, watch their body language. Do they appear happy or are their eyes constantly looking around (probably looking for the exit!) and not at you. If so, again step back and use questions to check their mood. Slow the pace down and clarify any concerns. Listening to what the customer has to say is the key and then respond by addressing the issues.

If, after taking on board what the customer is saying, you still get a ‘no’, don’t argue; back off and leave the door open for another day. Once the customer has verbally said no, the chances of you getting a sale after that is dramatically reduced. And whatever you do, don’t follow up a few days later with a telephone call! Leave the customer alone and he may come back of his own free will. The memory of your pushy style will linger for some time and the chances of you getting a quick re-match are slim, so don’t try and encourage one!

Next time you are making a sales pitch, make sure you don’t go too far and push the client so hard that he falls off a cliff. You want him alive so he can come and see you another day!

Bowhunting Talk

Sports Hall

In the sport of archery and bowhunting, choosing your method of hunting starts with the selection of the type of bow you are about to use. If you are selecting either the long bow or recurve bow you are about to enter the traditional bowhunting world. Or you may choose the compound bow for your choice of weapon. Whichever choice you make, just remember we are all bowhunters and we all enjoy the sport of archery. Bowhunting can and should be a family oriented way to bond together. My Dad always said, “When you hunt with your children, you don’t have to hunt for your children.”

Now that brings me to the equipment and how to choose a bow for the choice of the hunt. I am glad the compound bow is here. The compound has allowed many people to stay in the sport. I have had too many friends or relatives that have lost the strength of their youth and can no longer pull back the heavy draw of a long bow or recurve bow. Would you tell your wife or kids they can’t hunt until they can pull a 65 lb. bow back? No, I didn’t think so. That just wouldn’t be fair!

I’d much rather see a person using equipment that they can handle and be able to shoot effectively, rather then having someone shooting a bow that they are not comfortable with and possibly wounding an animal during a hunt. Whatever you feel comfortable with, will always be the right choice for you or your hunting partners. By this I mean, try not to pressure someone into something that may not be the right comfort zone for that particular person just because it works for you. You should only make a suggestion to try and help someone. And don’t be afraid or too stubborn to take a suggestion from someone else. I am always looking for a good opportunity to learn a better way of doing anything in life and its many paths that it has to offer.

This brings me to another thought in my mind. I’ve been to the practice range when either an anti-hunter or maybe a gun hunter asks me what are you doing with that thing (meaning my compound bow). Don’t you think you bowhunters have wounded enough animals? This is very unfair for either to say. Anti-hunters will never understand how the true meaning of fair chase rules work and why conservation by the hunter works so well for our great country. I’ve also had gun hunters say to me, I’ve seen way too many deer running around in the woods with arrows sticking out of them. I’m here to tell you that in my forty years plus of hunting with a gun or my archery equipment, I’ve never seen one deer running around with arrows stuck in it. It’s time to stop pointing fingers. I have seen deer that have been mortally wounded by either a gun or bow and I don’t think I could point a finger without saying, someone made a poor choice of a shot or they just didn’t follow through with a good tracking of a blood trail.

It is time we stop pointing fingers and band together as one. The hunter, whether it is archery hunting or gun hunting, we need to stick together and help each other to conserve our rights to hunt and give fair chase to the animal being pursued.

A Bow Hunter Is…
A creature with stick and string attached.

One who smiles while water runs down his backbut complains if his feathers get wet.

A stickler for perfection in equipmentwho is wearing baggy pants.

Someone with a talent to top the biggest tale you ever heardor told.

A Hunter with a thirst for challenge.

One who screams bloody murder if the meals are not on timebut will wait for hours in one spot just to get snorted at.

A hunter wearing camouflage clothes and a MBH (Michigan Bow Hunters) emblem!

This was a quote out of the Michigan Bow Hunters news letter, December, 1983. I thought this was quite fitting for this article about archery and bow hunting.
It’s All About Bow Hunting!

My name is Ted Lake and I’m building a website in memory of my dad Deuaine Lake. This site is all about Archery and Archery Hunting. My dad started me when I was 5 years old (1956) and I’ve continued to teach both my boys the same respect for the sport of archery. Article Marketing Just Got Easier For Content Publishers Thanks To RSS Syndication Technology

Online Marketing

Copyright 2006 The IWE, LLC. All Rights Reserved.

RSS(Real Simple Syndication) is the BIG… Buzz around the Internet these days because of its Powerful ability to syndicate content Effortlessly and Instantly across the Internet to any website and/or subscriber who subscribed to that particular RSS Feed with a 100% GUARANTEED delivery.

What other technology online can guarantee you that?

Email? I don’t think so.

RSS is it… Period!

And the crazy thing is, everybody who publishes content on their website on a regular basis is quickly adapting because of the many benefits RSS offers because lets face it, updating content manually on any given website is a very time consuming task, especially when you have to do it on a Day In and Day Out basis.

But, by having an RSS enabled website, not only do you get high quality content INSTANTLY delivered, you can now give your audience more content with less work on your part leaving you more time to focus on other important tasks you might have sitting on the back burner when you have time.

This is the main benefit RSS Syndication gives the website owner and/or valued subscriber.

Now that you have some idea of how RSS can simplify updating content on any given website, what does this have to do with Article Marketing and how does it benefit the content publisher who writes the articles?

Well… lets talk about it.

We all know that content is the life blood of the Internet and is why most people come online… right?

We also know that RSS syndicates content to whatever website that is RSS enabled and/or subscriber who uses an RSS aggregator.

The BIG question that’s probably floating around in your head is… how do Article Publishers who write the articles benefit from RSS Syndication?

The answer is simple really.

Ever heard the phrase… “The Internet Is Nothing More Then A Numbers Game”?

If not, now you have and that is exactly what RSS Syndication will do for anybody who does or is just starting out can expect to benefit from by joining the Article Marketing game.

Let’s talk about this a little more so it’s clear in your mind.

Let’s say you write your first article and your manage to locate, lets say… 20 Article Directories that offer FREE Article Submissions and offer RSS Feeds to website owners and to the general public to use.

And lets say that those 20 Article Directories collected all their RSS Feeds and submitted them to all the TOP RSS Directories on the web so that website owners and/or people with RSS Aggregators can locate those RSS Feeds so they can subscribe to them.

You with me so far?

Now, you go and submit your article to all 20 Article Directories and wait for their reply to see if your article got accepted.

You check your Inbox and find that all 20 article directories accepted your article into their database and would be syndicating it within the next 24 hours.

Notice I said the word “syndicating”. That’s because once your article is approved by that article directory and because these article directories use RSS technology to syndicate NEW content to whoever is subscribed, guess what happens to your article?

It gets syndicated to whoever is subscribed to that RSS Feed. So if you submitted to all 20 article directories under whatever category, and there were 200 subscribers per article directory subscribed to that RSS Feed, guess how many potential customers you will possibly come in contact with through your articles Resource Box?

Lets do the math… how’s 4000 potential subscribers, which means you have a potential of receiving 4000 potential visitors to your website of choice… Absolutely FREE!

That’s the power of RSS Syndication and is WHY article marketing is becoming one of the #1 ways to promote ANY website online.

I wrote this article just as a quick example of what RSS Technology can do for anyone using it on their websites and for those who use articles as part of their website promotion strategy so you can see how RSS will get your articles more exposure with NO extra work on your part.

I truly hope you see the benefits I outlined within this article and hope you take the neccessary steps to getting started with writing your own articles, if your not already, so you too can benefit from RSS Syndication like everyone else.

So… with that said, what are you waiting for?

Cory Threlfall is the owner of a NEW article directory that offers FREE Article Submissions and RSS Syndication called “The Article Syndicate” and welcomes all Article Publishers to come and register for FREE so they can get FREE Publicity via e-Zines, Search Engines, RSS Syndication, Blogs and The Article Syndicate.
