Planning ahead when you travel reduces stress. This is particularly important for a diabetic. These 5 diabetes travel tips are simple to implement and crucial to your diabetic management and are particularly important if you are traveling abroad.
1) Have a pre-travel check-up. Make sure your A1C blood sugar levels; your blood pressure and your cholesterol levels are OK. Get the appropriate shots for any country you plan to visit.
2) Wear a diabetes medical ID. Ideally it should be in the language spoken in the country you’re visiting. Not everyone speaks your language and you don’t want medical problems through misunderstandings.
3) Keep your medication and glucose snacks in your hand-luggage. Check-in baggage does, unfortunately, go astray. Don’t risk your diabetes medication by packing it in your main luggage.
4) Keep your medication in its original box, complete with pharmacy labels. It will prevent misunderstandings about why you are carrying drugs and, if you are on insulin, syringes.
5) Be aware of time zone changes, especially when altering your watch. Remember when you travel east your day becomes shorter; if you travel west your day becomes longer. You may need to alter the timings of your medication.
Traveling need not be traumatic. A sensible attitude and a bit of pre-travel planning can make things go far more smoothly.

Diabetes is of three main types - insulin-dependent diabetes or the Type 1 diabetes, Non-insulin dependent diabetes or the Type 2 diabetes, and gestational diabetes mellitus. A person’s eating habits and viruses can cause Type 1 diabetes. Heredity, obesity, high blood pressure, and lack of proper diet cause Type 2 diabetes, which is very common.
The gestational diabetes mellitus is caused as a result of heredity, increased maternal age, fatness and more reasons. It may cause the mother to develop permanent diabetes. This characteristic may get transferred to the child at a later age.
There are certain symptoms with the help of which you can detect diabetes. Excessive urination, constant thirst, loss of weight, excessive starvation, nausea, extreme tiredness, infections, irritability and tiredness are some of them.
The importance of insulin comes to light when a person suffers from diabetes. Insulin is a hormone that allows blood sugar or glucose to enter body cells. Diabetes affects a person’s capability to make insulin. Due to diabetes, the glucose remains in the blood itself. This high rate of sugar in the blood may cause harm to your eyes, nerves, kidneys, heart and blood vessels.
Other than heredity reasons, you can easily avoid Type 2 diabetes by following some simple steps. For those people who are overweight, reduce the rate of consuming food. Overweight people have the risk of developing diabetes. Try to consume grilled or baked food instead of fried food. Cut down on fatty meals. While having food, check its Glycemic Index. While drinking milk, opt for the skimmed milk instead of the full-fat milk. Exercise is a very effective way, which ensures that you stay in a healthy way always.
It is best to cure diabetes before it attacks your health. To cure diabetes, it is important to know its symptoms. Extreme thirst not only after exercise and a stroll in the hot air, but always, is a symptom. Even after drinking water, if you have a dry mouth, if you have to urinate frequently, if you have unexpected weight loss, and you feel lethargic all the time, check with a doctor. It could be a symptom for diabetes.
Blurry vision, slow healing cuts and sores, extreme itching or soreness in the genital or yeast infection can be the other symptoms of diabetes. It is best to cure it before it develops fully and affects your body.

Day 1 The first craving you have for a smoke, wait 1 hour before you let yourself have it. What I mean is, when your about to go out for your first smoke, wait for at least a hour. Go as long as you can if you can go longer. If you are at work, try and wait for your next coffee break or lunch break. So you should go as long as you possible can before having your first smoke. Then I am sure you need to give in, so go ahead, and don’t feel bad, it’s going to take time.
Day 2 Repeated day 1, but try for an extra hour.
- Do this until you go the first 8 hours of the day without having a smoke? If you try for a bit longer each and everyday, you should be able to do this in 7 - 10 days. One thing to remember is that you should keep this up until you only have 5 smokes or less in the last half of the day.
- By now, you should be looking forward to your first smoke, but you should feel good about cutting your smoking habits down by half if not more. Remember you should not binge smoke once you have your first, keep it under 5 smokes after that, until you go to sleep.
- Keep this routine until you have gone a steady 2 weeks. If you’re having trouble, use 1 or 2 of the natural remedies below.
- Now here comes the part where you flip everything around. Now in the morning when you get up, the first chance you get, have a smoke. You may notice it’s not the same; maybe you don’t enjoy it as much either. This is good! If you did this correctly you shouldn’t enjoy it as much as you were enjoying the smoke at the end of the day. Now go the whole day without having a smoke, and have a few in the evening before you go to bed.
- Do this until you can have one smoke in the mooring, and 2 smokes in the evening for a total of 3 smokes a day. Do this for a solid week and if you screw up try again. You have to do this for a SOILD WEEK! ONLY 3 SMOKES! You can do it! If you’re having trouble, use 1 or 2 of the natural remedies below.
- Now you’re going to get up in the morning, and want your smoke, but you’re not going to have it, you’re going to have 1 today, only 1! You pick when you want it, but DO NOT CHEAT! ONLY 1! You can do it!
- Keep doing this until you are only having one smoke a day for at least 2 weeks. YES 2 weeks! And every time you cheat, you start all over again. If you’re finding this difficult, you can try 1 to 3 of the natural remedies in the list below to help you get dependant on only one smoke. You still get your smoke, but you’re only having one! So choose when to have it wisely!
- YOU’V Done IT! If you’ve gone 2 whole weeks with only having 1 smoke a day. You’re inches away from never wanting a smoke again. The final step is obvious. Choose 2 to 4 natural remedies from the list below, and don’t have that smoke. Think back to when you quit your bad habit, remember your mind set, and think how much your going to improve your health, your confidence, your will power and your entire life by making this step. Besides, what good is that one smoke a day anyways? Its not even worth it is it? You probably were thinking the whole time you were only having one a day that you might as well just not have it at all. Your natural remedies are enough for you, your body is cheering you on, and it loves you! Your mind is stronger than ever! You ARE ALMOST THERE DO NOT GIVE INTO TEMPTAION! Other smokers are jealous of you because your better than the nicotine, your better than the addiction, you have conquered it………..almost.
- Keep going until you don’t need the natural remedies anymore. BINGO your smoke free, threes no need to smoke anymore. Why would you go crawling back after all of that work? Stay strong! You’re a fighter! And you’ve done well. You should be EXTREAMLY PROUD OF YOURSELF! Walk with your head held high! Smile! CHEER! YOU DID IT!
*Tips! - Don’t put yourself in positions that will make you want to smoke. Don’t take breaks with smokers. Don’t drink because that often makes you want to smoke more. Don’t substitute food for smoking. Don’t talk about smoking. Ask people who are smoking around you if they wouldn’t or would go somewhere else. Don’t be afraid to tell people you are trying to quit smoking and you need all the support you can get. Get your friends, and family involved. STAY POSITIVE!
Other Stop Smoking Tips ;
1. Analyze your habit for a few weeks, keep a log of when, where, and why you use tobacco.
2. List the reasons you want to quit.
3. Find substitutes like gum, or a pencil to hold.
4. Reward your resolve. Treat yourself with the money you would have spent on your habit.
5. Enjoy your food, and eat as much low-calorie food as you want when you are trying to quit.
6. Never let relapse deter you from continuing your efforts to quit.

No one can deny the power of magnets, racing pigeons find their way home across thousands of miles, and Salmon use the earth’s magnetic pulses to travel through oceans to make their way back to their spawning grounds.
The ancient Celts built their places of worship at points where the earth’s magnetic ley lines intersect.
Are you sitting there reading this and rubbing your wrist because your arthritis is playing up again?
Do you avoid walking up stairs as your knees hurt so much?
Magnets have been helping guide animals around the world for millions of years; they can now help you with your pain.
In the December 2004 issue of the British Medical Journal, one study concluded that wearing magnetic bracelets can significantly reduce the pain of arthritis.
As more questions are raised every day over the use of drugs (Celebrex or Vioxx) to assist in pain relief for arthritis, the study is good news to the over 70 million Americans suffering from the disease.
Arthritis affects one in three adults in the United States, and over half of those feel that there is nothing that can be done to ease their pain.
It is a sad world when people will suffer their pain rather than take medication as they are so frightened of the potential side affects of the prescribed medications.
Magnetic therapy offers a natural risk free pain relief for people who suffer with Arthritis.
The British Medical Journal recently published an article in which researchers acknowledged the need for more research regarding the placebo effect. We know that believing in any particular remedy is more likely to create a positive subjective report of improvement. It’s also true that taking any kind of action to alleviate pain results in some sense of ease.
Can magnetic therapy products really help me?
•The British Medical journal thinks so and it definitely can’t hurt you.
•Magnetic therapy products are natural and offer natural pain relief.
•You wear them on your body, no invasive operations.
•Cost/benefit, the cost of trying Magnetic therapy products is much lower than trying various drug therapies.
Arthritis pain really wears you down as it drags on for years and years; try magnetic therapy products for natural pain relief.
Paul forcey started wearing a Magnetic Bracelet from Magnetic Therapy Products and after finding it helped immensely with the pain of arthritis he started working for them.

When I was first diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 21, I had not given the first thought to living a healthy diabetic lifestyle. As far as I was concerned, a healthy lifestyle was reserved only for fitness junkies and overweight moms.
I didn’t know squat about the benefits and overall happiness a healthy lifestyle would lead to. I was perfectly content eating frozen pizza, smoking cigarettes, and binge drinking on a regular basis. After I was diagnosed with diabetes, I had a lengthy discussion with my doctor that resulted in an epiphany, “Everything I love is killing me!”
First, we’ll define what I mean by healthy lifestyle. When I asked the question, “What is a healthy lifestyle?” the common answer seemed to be, “Don’t smoke, don’t drink, eat only vegetables and protein, and make sure to exercise every day.”
My first thought was, “You can give that crap right back to the birds.” I was 21, loved to party, and absolutely chock full of testosterone.
The ideas, practices, and benefits a healthy lifestyle provided sounded great for managing my diabetes, but I sure didn’t like the idea of my social life falling off the face of the planet. Believing in the power of moderation, I made some compromises with my disease:
1. Smoking
I quit smoking cigarettes and only smoked cigars on special occasions such as bachelor parties, Super Bowls, or the birth of my first child. That last part was a joke. After many years of searching, special occasions are the only reason I can find to put nicotine or smoke of any kind in your body.
2. Drinking
For me, this was a big one. I’m not really the type of guy that likes to meet girls at church, and school was not really an option for me, but drinking was all my friends and I did. As a result, drinking alcohol (sadly enough) was a major component of my social life. From that day forward, I laid down some basic rules.
No liquor. Liquor causes severe instability in blood sugar levels, and will cause serious problems. I stick only to beer and wine with a maximum of three drinks. If you monitor your sugar regularly and eat beforehand, you should be able to enjoy a nice night out.
3. Eating
Of the areas available for improvement in my lifestyle, eating was the easiest for me to adapt and overcome. When I learned that protein had a minor effect on my sugar that was good news, any hamburger and steak-loving American would be happy to hear that, but the bad news was that French fries, baked potatoes, and (my favorite) sweet potatoes were off limits. That meant I had to learn to love vegetables.
From that point forward, I began cooking veggies with light butter and cayenne pepper. I know that sounds odd, but I like spicy food. As far as your diet is concerned, for the sake of your happiness, find your favorite spices and seasonings and begin experimenting with healthy foods.
4. Exercise
When it comes to exercising many people (including myself) do not follow through for long enough to see substantial results. Personally, I believe in living an active lifestyle instead of becoming a fitness and free-weight junkie. What worked for me? Basic exercises (lunges, squats, and crunches) in front of the television every morning followed by a 15 minute walk.
Complying with the guidelines I listed above, I’m still able to have a fun, active lifestyle while controlling my diabetes. Finally, I need to say that I’m not a doctor, just a guy with Type 1 Diabetes. The practices I listed worked for me to maintain the young-adult lifestyle that I wanted. You may be different, and understanding your own personality traits is critical to successful moderation and control of your diabetes.

Fibromyalgia is a complex chronic neurological disorder that generates a wide range of symptoms. Most people with fibromyalgia complain about recidivating muscular pain, rigidity of joints and a generalized state of body weakness. Although these manifestations may point to rheumatoid arthritis, clinical examinations can reveal any signs of physical damage in people with fibromyalgia.
Due to the fact that most medical treatments are unable to overcome fibromyalgia, the disorder is considered to be incurable. However, this belief is far from the truth. Although fibromyalgia is a serious disorder with a pronounced chronic character, there are actually effective means of treating it. Acupuncture has proved to be a very reliable form of therapy for fibromyalgia, providing symptomatic relief and preventing the recurrence of the disorder.
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese practice that has been successfully used to treat various illnesses for thousands of years. This oriental therapy can relieve most of the symptoms generated by fibromyalgia in a relatively short period of time. Acupuncture can quickly restore physical and mental balance, improving the overall health of the people who follow this form of therapy.
Acupuncture can quickly ease fibromyalgia pain and fatigue. This form of alternative therapy uses needles to stimulate various nervous centers of the body. In Oriental medicine, it is believed that the internal activity of the organism can be influenced by activating certain points on the body. These points are referred to as “acupuncture points” or “acupoints”. Therapists use acupuncture needles to activate specific acupoints on the body, correcting the activity of the entire organism simply by stimulating the nervous system.
This ancient Chinese practice is very benefic for people affected by fibromyalgia. Acupuncture inhibits fibromyalgia pain by stopping pain impulses from reaching the brain. This form of therapy can also regulate the body’s production of hormones, increasing the levels of serotonin, endorphins and encephalin, which have a very important role in relieving pain. Acupuncture can also improve the blood flow, restoring muscular tonus. Furthermore, acupuncture can help people with fibromyalgia relax, inducing them a state of comfort and wellbeing.
The majority of people affected by fibromyalgia admit that they have experienced an amelioration of their symptoms after only a few sessions of acupuncture. The first symptoms that can be relieved with the means of acupuncture are muscular pain and weakness, rigidity of the joints, and fatigue. After a month of ongoing therapy, acupuncture can also reduce stress, depression and mental confusion.
Chinese therapists claim that acupuncture works on multiple levels, healing the body, mind and spirit altogether, helping people re-achieve their balance. Oriental therapists also state that acupuncture stimulates and increases the vital “chi” energy, improving the overall health of the organism.
Acupuncture is very benefic to people with fibromyalgia and it can quickly alleviate their symptoms. In present, this form of therapy is probably the most effective means of overcoming the disorder.

Multiple Sclerosis- what is it?
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system (CNS) where the body’s own immune cells attack the nervous system. In Multiple Sclerosis, inflammation of nervous tissue causes the loss of myelin, a fatty material that acts as a sort of protective insulation for the nerve fibers in the brain and spinal cord. This demyelination leaves multiple areas of scar tissue (sclerosis) along the covering of the nerve cells, which disrupts the ability of the nerves to conduct electrical impulses to and from the brain, producing the various symptoms of multiple Sclerosis.
Multiple Sclerosis-Causes, symptoms, and risk factors
The cause of multiple Sclerosis is unknown. Geographic studies indicate there may be an environmental factor involved. Multiple Sclerosis is more likely to occur in northern Europe, the northern United States, southern Australia, and New Zealand than in other areas.
Symptoms of multiple Sclerosis vary because the location and extent of each attack varies. There is usually a stepwise progression of the disorder, with episodes that last days, weeks, or months alternating with times of reduced or no symptoms (remission). Recurrence (relapse) is common although non-stop progression without periods of remission may also occur.
The exact cause of the inflammation associated with multiple Sclerosis is unknown. An increase in the number of immune cells in the body of a person with multiple Sclerosis indicates that there may be a type of immune response that triggers the disorder. The most frequent theories about the cause of multiple sclerosis include a virus-type organism, an abnormality of the genes responsible for control of the immune system, or a combination of both factors.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) affects approximately 1 out of 1,000 people. More women are affected than men are. The disorder most commonly begins between ages 20 and 40, but can strike at any age. Risks include a family history of multiple Sclerosis and living in a geographical area with a higher incidence rate for multiple Sclerosis.

Cholesterol is a fatlike substance which is found in the tissue of humans and other animals. It plays important roles in cell membrane structure, certain hormones, and manufacturing vitamin D. Our livers procude all of the cholesterol that we need for these important functions. Excess cholesterol can contribute to antherosclerosis or clogging of the arteries.
Cholesterol is found in all food from animal sources: meat, eggs, fish, poultry, and dairy products. Some animal foods contribute substantial amounts of cholesterol, while others contribute only small amounts. There is no cholesterol in any plant-derived foods. Excess dietary cholesterol can increase blood cholesterol, which can increase the risk of coronary heart disease.
You’ll often hear cholesterol referred to as either good cholesterol or bad cholesterol. To help in our understanding of the two and their differences, we first need to define the word “lipoproteins.” These are packets of proteins, cholesterol, and triglycerides that are assembled by the liver and circulated in the blood. When we talk about LDL cholesterol, we’re referring to low density lipoprotein cholesterol. And when we refer to HDL cholesterol, we’re referring to high density lipoprotein cholesterol.
LDL cholesterol, often referred to as “bad cholesterol,” carried cholesterol through the bloodstream, dropping it off where it’s needed for cell building and leaving behind any unused residue of cholesterol as plague on the walls of the arteries.
HDL cholesterol, often referred to as “good cholesterol,” picks up the cholesterol which has been deposited in the arteries and brings it back to the liver for reprocessing or excretion.
You can easily understand why there’s a distinction between good and bad cholesterol now that you understand the unique functions of each.
Saturated fats are usually from animal products such as lard, fats in meat and chicken skin, butter, ice cream, milk fat, cheese, etc. Tropical oils such as coconut oil and palm oil are also highly saturated. These fats are usually solid at room temperature. You’ve undoubtedly heard from somewhere that you should keep your saturated fats to a minimum, but do you know why? Because these fats tend to increase your blood cholesterol levels, which in turn increases your risk of coronary heart disease.
Hydrogenated fats are those liquid vegetable oils than have been turned into solid saturated fats through a chemical process. These fats also contribute to your blood cholesterol levels.
Polyunsaturated fats are liquid at room temperature and derived from plants. Examples: safflower, corn, soybean, cottenseed and sunflower oils. Polyunsaturated fats tend to lower LDL (your bad cholesterol), but in excess can also lower your HDL (good cholesterol).
Monounsaturated fats are also derived from plants. These include olive oils and canola oil. Replacing the saturated fats in your diet with monounsaturated fats can help to lower your LDL (again, bad cholesterol) without lowering your HDL (good cholesterol). This is why monounsaturated fats are a healthy choice for your heart. However, keep in mind that too much of any form of fat can contribute to obesity.
The bottomline: whenever you’re making a choice about the fats you use, keep in mind that good heart health depends on keeping your LDL cholesterol low while maintaining your HDL cholesterol.

About 7 years ago, I decided that my budget could stretch, just enough, to fulfill my lifelong dream of owning my own hot tub. Like most perspective spa owners, my biggest concern was whether the hassle of adding and mixing all those toxic chemicals that (I used to believe) are necessary for clean spa water was really worth the pleasure of after-work escapes into my personal “oasis”.
After all, who dreams of an oasis comprised of a hot chemical soup, with labor involved in starting and maintaining it? It is kind of counteractive to the fantasy if you think about it like that. It would be more of a mirage than an oasis, if you ask me.
I began to brood over other possibilities as I let my skepticism simmer. What if I developed a rash or an allergic reaction to those artificial additives? I mean, my pores would be more open and vulnerable then, and that could really “put me in hot water”.
Then a friend of mine told me about an all-natural, enzyme based formula that was designed to maintain crystal-clear spa water, and sanitize, without chemicals. The amazing thing is that it only needs to be added once every three months. Nothing else has to be added, ever. No testing, labor, or supplements are required with normal use. The enzymes do it all for you and it is 100% safe and nontoxic.
If you think I was cynical before, I certainly was then, because this sounded too good to be true. Nevertheless, I decided to take my friends word for it. I brushed that skeptical angel off my shoulder and went out to purchase my steamy indulgence. To my delight, my friend’s testimony and my dream came true. I had the hot tub I always wanted and none of the worries or hassles that I feared.
The product is called “Spa Magic” and it is no misnomer. In 3 words: I loved it. To quote an old Norelco ad, “I liked it so much, I bought the company”. Actually, I liked it so much I started my own company to distribute these great products.
Our company is called Cre8ive Enzymes (http://www.cre8ivegroup.com/enzymes/) and we our proud to join the community of “Green Industries” that our changing the way we live our lives. Using our products produces no harmful byproducts. Our customers can dispose of their spa or cleaning water with the security of knowing that they are not contaminating the environment at all. We are glad to be a part of the growing movement towards a greener world, free of the toxins and chemicals that can poison our world.
We now have hundreds of customers, still growing, and nothing but positive feedback and repeat business from our satisfied clients. In addition to the Spa Magic, we sell other great cleaning products for your house and your pets.
The thing that pleased me the most about this discovery was the confirmation it gave me that green solutions have the power to beat synthetic/chemical solutions in the marketplace through both superior efficacy and cost effectiveness. There is hope yet, that consumers may finally abandon their, seemingly endless, use of artificial products that contaminate and disrupt the balance of our delicate ecosystem.
Dr. Hunter, with the development of this revolutionary enzyme formula, was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in the early ‘90’s. Starlab, the manufacture of this proprietary enzyme formula, is currently working towards expanding its product line with the development of more environmentally-friendly solutions to the problems we face in this ever changing world.
They say we are in the second “Age of Reason”, but the contamination of our environment, that has been our mainstay, is not very rational at all. However, all-natural products that are less expensive and more effective than chemicals (such as the product line our company offers) provide the perfect incentives for consumerism to evolve for the better.
Randy Martin is an environmental entrepreneur who lives in Wytheville, VA and owns an e-commerce business that sells all-natural, nontoxic cleaning products for everything from hot tubs to pets. Our company is called Cre8ive Enzymes http://www.cre8ivegroup.com/enzymes/ and we our proud to join the community of “Green Industries” that our changing the way we live our lives.

How to Fight Cancer and Win is a book written by William L. Fischer.
You might find this book interesting and useful. Despite being published in 1992, it remains (as of this writing) among the top 20,000 sellers on a popular book-selling site.
William Fischer worked for pharmaceutical companies in Germany. He later became a writer on natural healing methods and has traveled far to learn the healing methods that exist in different cultures.
In his book, How to Fight Cancer and Win, William doesn’t advise you to ignore your oncologist’s treatment plan. He does, however, give you plenty of information on how to supplement your fight against cancer. Flaxseed oil is part of that advice.
Fighting cancer can be a tough battle to win. I have met a few people who believe they have beaten their cancer through a powerful system called Falun Dafa.
You can download a book filled with stories of people that have overcome all kinds of illness here: clearwisdom.net/emh/download/publications/health_index.html
