Joint ventures utilize the powerful marketing concept known as
“leverage”. This form of marketing utilizes the existing strong
bonded relationships and goodwill that other companies have
already established with people who are your potential
customers.

The main draw of joint ventures is that it truly is a win-win
business proposition. It allows you and your joint venture
partner the opportunity to leverage each other’s assets and
resources for the benefit of all parties - you win, your joint
venture partners win, and your customers and subscribers win.

It has extremely low cost and low risk, and is one of the
fastest ways of bringing your product to market by using other
people’s resources.

It is a great way to acquire new subscribers and customers with
practically no costs. It allows you to leverage your joint
venture partner’s traffic, existing subscribers and customers.
You don’t have to incur expenses in acquiring new traffic and
you can be pretty certain that the traffic you get from your
joint venture partner is targeted, therefore, likely to be
profitable.

Cutting joint venture deals doesn’t necessarily need to be
confined to only non-competitors. You can cut deals with your
competitors too, and you should!

Find out who is selling to your target market, what products
and/or services they are selling, and who your target market
trusts and has a good relationship with. You will then want to
contact them to propose a joint venture deal by offering them
complementary products and/or services. If you are a reputable
company that offers high quality products/services, it should be
really easy for you to find other companies to partner with.

To form a successful joint venture, it is necessary to first be
absolutely clear about one’s own goals; second, be clear about
the attributes one is seeking in a partner; and third, when
negotiating with potential partners, be open and prepared to
give as well as take.

If you plan on hosting products through joint venture
endorsement marketing, you must build a strong relationship with
your audience. Or, if you are the beneficiary, you must team up
with hosts who have a good relationship with their audience.

The stronger the relationship that the endorser has with his
audience, the greater will be the response. For an endorsement
to work most profitably, it must blend in with the endorser’s
prior communications with the audience.

Trading links is a joint venture because two websites are
hosting the other’s website link, helping to drive traffic to
the sites as well as increase search engine rankings. This
particular joint venture technique is being used frequently on
the web today because of the sheer importance of links and their
bearing on search engine results. If you are having problems
getting business then you might consider linking your products
and services with another website that has a similar target
market and complementary products. This way you can share the
expense of the website, hosting account, and administrative
costs, and split the difference on products. It’s a good way to
cut down on overhead and increase your inventory at the same
time.

You can also enter into a list building joint venture with ezine
publishers where all partners promote each other’s ezine at the
subscription thank you page. After someone has subscribed to
your ezine, you’ll redirect them to the subscription thank you
page where you display your joint venture partners’ ezines. In
this way, all of you can build your list much faster as all the
partners are leveraging on each other’s resources. You can
increase the size of your opt-in and ultimately your customer
list very quickly. It’s not uncommon to add hundreds of new
subscribers to your list within minutes of launching your joint
venture.

You can also team up with another website or business in their
autoresponder advertising campaign. Both websites can host these
ads for the other website and as a result, have more coverage
and business.

Joint venture with another website to write an e-book that
outlines different services and provides good information for
visitors. Ensure that reading the e-book is actually worthwhile
and informative. Then, include advertisements for both
businesses in the e-book and allow the e-book to be downloaded
for free from both websites. This is great advertising and by
giving something away for free you will make your visitors feel
more positive about your company.

You might have specialised knowledge with high demand but you
lack product creation skills. You can easily approach someone
who’s good at creating products, such as, e-books, tapes and
videos, to strike a joint venture deal. You can provide the
specialised knowledge whilst your joint venture partner can be
responsible for creating the products.

You may have a discussion forum. You invite several publishers
to participate at your discussion forum. One of those publishers
participates and then announces your discussion forum to his
audience. When he does this, he gets his audience to go to your
discussion board. Not only do the audience members gain helpful
information at the discussion board, but they see the helpful
posts of that publisher whereby their loyalty to that publisher
is increased.

Testimonials have been proven to make visitors feel more
comfortable and confident with a product or company. You can
create a joint venture to help another website with their
testimonials and have them do the same thing for you.

Free information/resource endorsements are the easiest to get on
the internet. By creating an online infrastructure that supplies
helpful information, publishers, who are obligated to supply
helpful information to their audience, will feature some aspect
of your infrastructure. This aspect is usually something that
supplies helpful information, like a discussion board, ezine,
helpful website, article, or what have you.

When writing product endorsement letters or scripts, you must
focus on how you can make the endorsement appear as editorial
rather than sales copy. This is harder to do in a product
endorsement than a free resource endorsement. That’s why you
need to make a special offer to the endorser’s audience.

The secret to executing successful joint venture endorsements is
to have the endorser convey to his audience that he is genuinely
trying to help them reach the end result they desire, through
his endorsement… he’s not trying to sell them something…
he’s trying to help them.

You should come up with reason to explain to the audience why
they are receiving the endorsement. You can use reasons like
these:

couldn’t help but passing this on to you…”

talking with him for a while, I convinced him to…”

“I was looking for a Valentine’s Day gift for my customers, and
here’s what I found…”

“I can’t help sharing this with you… This is brand-new, and I
wanted to let you know before every body else finds out…”

“My friend told me about this… I couldn’t believe it at first,
but when I tried it out - it worked! Now, let me tell you about
it…”

If done correctly, joint ventures can literally explode your
online sales and profits in short order.

E-currency Trading and My Experiences

There is a new type of business sweeping across the internet. If
you haven’t heard already, e-currency trading is becoming the
fastest growing online business in the years 2005 and 2006.

Just exactly how does this new type of business work? E-currency
trading is still a relatively unknown, yet lucrative market.
E-currency trading is the act of exchanging one online currency
in exchange for another. When the exchange takes place, the
middle man receives a fee for processing the exchange. This is
where everyday people just like you and I are able to step in
and be that middle man and collect that fee for processing a
transaction.

So how do we become that middle man? There are multiple online
courses available that will teach anyone the e-currency exchange
business. Most are rather pricey on the order for $700 to $1000.
However, there are a few reliable training courses that you can
find for much less. Through one of these training courses, you
will be taught how to effectively trade e-currency and take $200
and double that amount in just less than 1 month.

Like anyone else, I was a bit skeptical at first and reluctant
to buy anything online. Given the recent growth of the internet
over the past 5 years, I decided to give it shot. I funded my
account with $200 as suggest from the online training course and
away I went. During the first month of trading I earned a profit
of $278 from a $200 initial investment. My skepticism and fear
were completely gone and I had all the confidence in the world
and I ended up investing another $100. To this day I am still
and active e-currency trader and it has definitely changed my
life.

I can say the most difficult part of e-currency trading was
finding a course that was learning all the terminology and how
to navigate through the system. Through the help of an online
training course I was able to do this and what seemed to be
difficult at first became extremely easy.

Are You A Coward? I Was

Over the last month, I have come to hate emails and answerphones; not because I get 100 emails every day but because emails and answerphones are fast becoming the tool of the coward. At Beyond Philosophy we worked with a client a while ago whose account managers and sales teams never used to speak to anyone! They just used to send emails. If the customer called in they were greeted by answerphones which were kept on all day. You see the sales teams were all busy doing “real” work. The customers were just interrupting them. Surely this must be the height of “inside out” behaviour.

But why do people do this?

Primarily, it is because we all feel we can say things in emails that we would never say face to face. In my experience this never works how people would expect. No matter how hard you try, you think you have written one thing and the person reads something else. Before you know it you have lost a customer or lost a friend. We seem to forget that that all important ‘relationship’ with the customer is built on human contact, not emails!

One example springs to mind a few years ago when I worked in a multinational organisation and was involved in a large internal project. Things were not going well. I decided to send a “broadside” to the party who were driving me nuts! I took great delight in constructing the email. It was actually quite therapeutic. I worked on it to get the right message across so they would absolutely read between the lines and understand what I thought. I pressed the button
and off into the ether it went. I remember thinking, ‘Great I have told them what I think’. COWARD! How stupid I was, how naive, how self-righteous I was, and how wrong I was!

I lived to regret it. The email caused a big argument. I had said things that were misinterpreted despite my best attempts to be clear. I ended up upsetting a lot of people. I ended up regretting sending it. I was wrong. Since that day I now have adopted a few rules with emails that I would like to share with you.

1. Insist that all calls are answered by people and answer phones are banned other than outside office or opening hours.

2. Never reply to an email when you are emotionally charged. DO NOT type a reply and press the send button, until you have had a cooling off period. Put it in your “Draft” emails and look at it the next day. I always end up changing mine.

3. When you think “Shall I talk to them or shall I send them an email? It is at that moment when that little voice in your heads says; “No, just send them an email that’ll be simpler, you don’t want to talk to them it may be embarrassing…..” That is exactly the time I know I MUST talk to them. So pick up the phone and talk! It’s never as bad as you expect and people always appreciate it.

4. Finally a plea. When anyone sends you an email, please reply. Don’t just ignore it. Reply even to say “GO AWAY”. I find it amazing that you can send an email to someone and they don’t even have the courtesy of replying.

The Internet is full of thriving industries, generating billions of cyber dollars for real life people. Whether through employment, entrepreneurial prowess or sheer blind luck the Internet is a financial playground of opportunity ready to be explored. Many people are dissuaded by many of the disparaging statements and supposed risks that are involved in Internet commerce, but there are a number of completely safe and 100% legitimate industries that people of all abilities and financial backing can try out. In fact one of the most widespread and common Internet programs is also one of the most successful in terms of potential revenue and in the customer base, this is known as affiliate marketing.

Ecommerce Website Owners : Are You Leaving Money on the Counter?

Own an ecommerce website? Do you have a mailing list?

If not, you’re potentially leaving a lot of money on the counter.

Keeping in touch with your past customers and visitors, is one of the easiest and cost effective methods of increasing your website sales. You simply must have a mechanism to collect the email addresses of both buyers and browsers alike.

Collecting buyers email addresses is a “no brainer” - after all you need to send them confirmation details, receipts etc. Just make sure you ask their permission to keep them up to date on future special offers.

Collecting visitor details is a bit trickier, and you must offer some kind of incentive in return for them handing over their valuable email address. Here are several ways:

A discount voucher off their first order

The amount you are prepared to offer will depend on the profit margin in your business, and the drawback is you may only get the email addresses of people who were going to purchase anyway.

A competition to win one of your products

Do make sure you are honest and pick a winner - put past winner details on your site to emphasise this

An insiders buyers guide

If you offer technical products that can be tricky to understand - such as electronics, audio-visual etc, then write a short guide

Special reports or tips guides

If you sell golf equipment, search for articles on golf tips online, obtain the authors permission and compile them into a PDF report.

Managing your list

Depending on what ecommerce system your website is based on, you may already have the ability to manage email lists. If not, use a list management service such as Aweber (www.aweber.com), which allows you to set up autoresponder sequences, multiple lists and send HTML emails.

Which brings me nicely to the next *must* . . . send HTML emails!

HTML emails are the ones full of images and graphics, rather like webpages as opposed to plain text emails.

Why? They are far more eyecatching, which is essential given the increasing amounts of email we get every day. You stand a better chance if you include images of your products - after all a picture is worth a thousand words, right?

(the only exception to this is people selling non tangible products or services - for example, information products usually work better in text emails.)

What should you communicate in your emails?

Special offers

Any products that you have put on special offer, sale items, end of line stock etc. Adding a message of limited availability or ends by a certain date will help increase response.

Seasonal offers

Garden furniture and barbecues in Spring, for example.

Offers tied to special events

Before the recent FIFA World Cup, I was inundated with special offers on all kinds of TV’s for watching it on. If you can tie your products to a popular event in some way, so much the better.

New product reviews

Reviews of the latest product offerings to hit your marketplace, will interest your customers.

Technical “how to’s”

If you sell any kind of technical product, your customers will appreciate the occasional how to guide. How to get the best out of your equipment, top tips, etc.

Frequency of emails

I wouldn’t advise emailing your customers any more than once a week, and leave it more than a month between communications and they are likely to be forgetting about you.

There we have it. Loads of ideas on how to keep in touch with your customers, and make sure you stay at the forefront of their minds. The cost is virtually zero, and the potential returns are massive.

What’s the cost if you don’t? Well, undoubtedly one of your competitors will make the effort - and end up seducing your customers away from you . . possibly for good.

How a Single Paragraph Boosted My Adsense Profits

One of the most wonderful opportunities for bloggers and
webmasters has got to be Google’s Adsense program. Recently I
discovered yet another easy technique for boosting traffic on
one of my websites where I use Google’s Adsense program to
produce revenue. More traffic of course means more clicks!

If you want to improve on your results, tracking is vital.
Without tracking, it’s like you’re walking in the dark. Things
are harder to find and most likely your going to trip and fall.
Turning on the lights is a simple answer to your problem. The
same is true for figuring out how to improve your Google Adsense
revenue.

Tracking your results will reveal important data that will help
to pin point the reason why one web site, or even a particular
web page is getting better results.

When one particular site started to receive the majority of
clicks I carefully analyzed the data to find out why.

Even if several of your web site pages rank high in the search
engine results, that does not guarantee your link will be
clicked on. The following three elements are what I found to be
helping my site draw more attention that other results:

#1. The keyword phrase they were searching for was highlighted
in the results as the link. #2. The description under the
keyword offered a solution to their problem. #3. My domain name
related to their search term needs.

Let me give you an example:

Let’s say you’re looking for a flea remedy for your cat. In the
search box you type in the keyword phrase, “Flea remedy for
cats”. As you are searching through the results this is what an
irresistibly clickable result link might it look like:

#1. “Flea Remedy” (this is the linked result) #2. “This flea
remedy was wonderful. It rid my cat of fleas without harmful
chemicals….” (This is the description under the highlighted
link result) #3. …wonderfulcatremedies.com/catflea-remedy.htm
(This is the domain name listed under the description, this is
not an actual website link)

Notice the keyword is part of the clickable link result. Next
you see the description. If you were looking for a flea remedy,
wouldn’t you want to click on that link? Even the domain name is
appealing because it not only relates to your flea problem it
promises the solution.

My top producing Adsense site is receiving good traffic due to
those three elements. The paragraph the search engine is picking
up is the first paragraph under my Google Adsense ads.

The particular description that was really drawing people in was
actually a testimonial of the product that I was offering on
several of the pages receiving a high traffic volume.

The search engines will not always include the description that
you’d like them to. However, knowing that the first paragraph
and the headings are mainly what I see showing up in the search
engines, and those that have an irresistible heading or
paragraph are receiving more traffic, you better believe I’ll be
making sure these two things are teaked on each and every page
of my sites.

I am currently receiving about a 13.2% click-through rate and
averaging .61 cents per click. Now if I can bring my daily
traffic up to 1000 page views per day I’d be earning about
$70.00 per day. I’m not there yet, but at least I’m seeing
progress through tracking I’ve been able to raise my
click-through rate from 6.7% back when I first started in
August, to 13% in Jan. 2006.

So, the bottom line is this. Track your results or your results
won’t be worth tracking!

Free to Join Affiliate Programs - Can I Really Make Money?

If you have been looking around the internet for a while in search of ways of making money you cannot fail to have seen the words “join our free affiliate program” or “best free internet affiliate program” - probably followed by something about making thousands of dollars a month!

If you are like me you were a mixture of skeptical, intrigued, excited and also thinking “could this work for me?” Well to cut a long story short I was looking to work from home at the tail end of 2004 due to ill health and was surfing the net to find a work from home business. I kept seeing these adverts for free to join affiliate programs but had never heard of them in my life. To say I was a newbie was a massive understatement!

I decided to find as much as I could about them and everything I needed was online. I soon discovered Google Adwords and pay per click as a way of promoting my programs and also found Clickbank.com, Commission Junction.com (cj.com) and Tradedoubler.co.uk as “libraries” of thousands of products to promote.

I then tried to learn all I could about how to promote an internet affiliate program on Google Adwords and also how to research the market place. I cannot stress how important this point is! It is vital to find a market BEFORE you find your product. I tried to promote many things I thought were great products before I realized it was not what I thought would sell that mattered! It is what people are looking for that is important.

You may have heard the term “Niche Market” and this is what you are searching for - a niche that may not have a huge number of potential buyers - but that has a large enough group of people who are very HUNGRY to buy your products. It is your job as an affiliate to target these people as accurately as possible.

There are many different e Books out there that will help you learn how to do this. Using the Overture search tool is an excellent way of finding popular searches and Niche Markets.

You can also promote free affiliate programs through your own sites and this is the way to really generate those huge incomes you read about - but it can be a huge learning curve! Don’t worry however as there are lots of good programs out there that will teach you step by step how to do this. As I said before I started as an affiliate just less than a year ago and now make my living full time - it can be done - but…..

You must put in the time, effort and, yes, money to prepare yourself. And you must research, research and research some more the market place! This is not money for nothing but it is definitely a business you can succeed in if you do your homework and are prepared to learn from those who have succeeded before you.

Can Your Web Site Design Win an Award?

At some point or another, you’ve likely come across a website or
two that boasts (among other things) the winning of an award for
its web design. Have you ever wondered if such an achievement is
possible for your web design?

These web design awards are, after all, a very nice reward for
the work and the care that you have put into creating your web
design. Even if you haven’t won one yet for the most spectacular
web design, it’s not too late. You just haven’t spoken to the
right people. After all, it’s not as though the judges for these
web design awards spend their time surfing the entire world wide
web in the hopes that they’ll find someone who is award worthy.
Instead, you actually need to seek them out and submit your site
to be judged.

You won’t receive a web design award if you don’t apply for one!
The other sites that you’ve seen have already applied for
theirs, so it’s time that you picked yours up - if your site
wins, that is.

There are a number of different sites out there, each offering
their own type of web design award. Many of them are legitimate,
while others are more like under-cover link exchanges. You need
to be prudent while looking for an award site, so that you’re
not just advertising for someone else.

When you do find a web design award website, make sure that your
site fits their rules before you apply. For example, some sites
permit only non-commercial websites to apply, while others
welcome everyone up to corporate websites. Similarly, some web
design awards sits accept only those without frames, and some
won’t allow a site that contains java-applets. Don’t miss out on
an award simply because you didn’t read the rules for applying!

Of course, prestige isn’t the only thing that you’ll gain from
winning a web design award. These are also very good ways to
drum up some extra traffic to your website. If you have a
fantastic site - that is, one good enough for an award - it will
commonly be showcased on the award site’s homepage, frequently
leading to more hits on your site.

Don’t be discouraged if you don’t win the first time you submit
your site for a web design award. Think of it as a fun addition
to the joy you already get from web design itself. It will
challenge you to keep improving your skills and your web designs
until they are better than the other competitors.

To help you along, use the following tips to assist in getting
an award:

Don’t over-do the requests to an award site Don’t submit adult
sites Make certain that the site you’re submitting is entirely
finished, without any “under construction” or “coming soon”
pages Make sure that your loading time is fast. The award judges
won’t wait forever for your site to load. Check your graphics
and ensure there aren’t any broken ones. Nor should there be any
404 errors. Focus on your content. It’s just as important in
everything else in your web design.
